1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Convertible – Rare E Block!

Here is a chance to own a true piece of Oldsmobile muscle car history: a 1966 Cutlass 442 Convertible equipped with the ultra-rare 390925E block. Believed original to the car, this highly desirable motor makes this 442 stand out among collectors. Finished in sleek black over its original black bucket seat interior, this car presents beautifully, drives exceptionally well
Exterior
Originally finished in Silver Mist Poly, the car now wears a glossy black two-stage paint job that has been professionally buffed and protected with a 3-year marine-grade ceramic coating applied in August 2025 ($1,500 with full 3-stage paint correction). The body panels are straight with excellent fitment, and all trim and hardware are present. Some brightwork shows light pitting, and the rechromed bumpers still look sharp, though the rear has mild fading. A small bubble is visible near the driver's A-pillar by the rocker, with minor filler cracking in that area, though it appears non-structural. We also note a few soft dents on the upper panels, highlighted in our video. The convertible top is like new with a clear rear window, and all glass and lighting are clean and functional.

Interior
The interior is very presentable and believed to be largely original. The bucket seats look great, with only a small split on the driver's seat bottom cushion. Carpets, door panels, and hardware are in excellent shape, and the dash retains its original layout. The factory radio and top switch have been replaced by aftermarket units discreetly mounted under the dash. Functionality is excellent-wipers, lights, horn, and signals all work properly. The power convertible top operates smoothly up and down with ease.

Under the Hood
Under the hood sits the 390925E block-the rare and desirable Oldsmobile engine, believed to be original to the car. It runs strong, idles smoothly, and makes the kind of power you'd expect from a 442. The engine bay is tidy and retains plenty of originality, while power steering and power front disc brakes make this convertible easy and confident to drive. The motor runs cleanly with no smoke or unwelcome noises, just the healthy growl of a proper 442.

Underbody
The underside shows very clean and largely original. The floor pans are solid and everything underneath looks correct, with no evidence o
